When Adobe updated their software in the original VR plug-in did not work. For some reason people think this plug-in is a BETA version, it is not, nor does it claim to be. So it's really not that difficult to figure out which is the newer version of the plug-in. The difference between the two plug-ins is very minimal.
The new version just ads lens correction as an optional slider and support for 5. The reason the plug-in isn't working is because Adobe just upgraded Premier Pro as of yesterday, so therefore GoPro needs time to update their FX plug-in. Yes this is annoying, but it's the same annoyance that people had to deal with in when Adobe updated Premier Pro to their version and this stopped the GoPro VR plug-in from working hence the Jan update..
The workaround is actually very simple, you can install and run the previous version of Adobe Premier Pro and use the above mentioned plug-ins until GoPro release an update for their plug-in. You can also look at using DaVinci resolve with the reframe plug-in. These are both 3rd party programs and have nothing to do with GoPro. This is marked solved, but a workaround isn't a solution since the old plugin doesn't have all the features of the new version. We definitely still need a fix from GoPro!
I avoided upgrading for this very reason. Keep in mind atleast on a Win 10 machine you can have both versions of PP installed at the same time. Anybody have a workaround for Windows? I am in the middle of an edit that is past due and need this fixed ASAP!
For Premiere and AE I always keep "remove old versions" unchecked so I have a way to fall back in case it doesn't work ;-.
Thanks for the links danielr15, I hadn't realized that this was member to member only, and I have given feedback. I'll give the support link a try as well.
I had to pay for it, so it's on the expensive side for a workaround, but it has the equivalent of overcapture and has been perfectly reliable for me. It lacks the full feature set of the new GoPro plugin, though, like the motion blur and distortion correction. The issues with Premiere Pro is on Mac only from our testing. What error do you see on Windows?
I don't get an error in windows I moved them to the right spot, even tried clearing plugin cache, but no avail. Premiere acts like they don't exist.
Thank you. This solution worked. I had mine copied into the plugins folder which did not work but when moved to common it did work. There will be a fix for this shortly. In the meantime there is a workaround. When launching Premiere, hold down shift until you are asked to reset the plug-in cache, reset the cache.
This does make Premiere start slower, but all projects will load correctly and the filter will work again. Yes, I also mention this in my video but it's not working for a lot of people also not for me after weeks searching for a solution I find out a way that helpt me and share it so it helped other as well with this problem until there will fix the bug.
Try that. Can't seem to get the plug in to work in any sequence or resolution any more Edited a x jpeg just fine as a single render. Started a second and projection has never properly registered since. Reinstalled plug in, reinstalled premier, tried secondary machine. All generating same result. Which version is your Premier Pro ? It looks like there is no VR metadata in the photo.
Check out Exif fixer then it should work. If not can you provide the original photo or send it to me? Reframe Plugin for Premiere ? Best regards, Bas Solved! Report Inappropriate Content.

By contrast, VR Reframe can be applied to photos and can work with any format that is compatible with Premiere or After Effects. Please let me know some of the things you would like to learn so that I can include them in the tutorial. I know PowerDirector has some editing features. I have only played around with it for a little bit myself but it seems to be a good alternative to Premiere for prosumers.
I think your comment is a bit too polite ,Gopro is involved with borderline scam with the max camera software, obviously some cartel agreements have been made between gopro and adobe and apple mac to pump up more doh.
A 25 euro monthly subscription is the ONLY way to edit the footage nowadays if you are using windows based systems , witch is insanity for people who dont earn money by making videos. WTF Are we actually to believe that this is just a big pile of incompetence? They invested in the same scammery as jesus factory APPLE ,they sell you stuff that doesnt work on either windows or android but surprise ,surprise all the macs are juuust fine…WTF is that?
APPLE sells people owerpriced hardware that they are not allowed to tinker nor repair nor upgrade that comes with the cost of dead ,underpaid workers in china but atleast their software is decent ,people are waiting in lines for those heavenly macs.. F sake!! The only way to even stitch video is through davinci but the plug-in for reframing was discontinued for it….. BTW Im pretty suspicious about why was the plug-in for davinci development stopped ,this is just too many coincidences.
Hey Mic, are the plugins only for Creative Cloud? Thank you very much for posting these links Roland. Best regards, Mic. Hi, do you have any idea why after installed gopro vr plugins or gopro vr player, the plugin does not install to adobe, and the bridge between adobe premier and gopro is not working. Looks like gopro vr player can not find adobe premier.
I downloaded the gopro plugins and installed the. How do I undo what this file did?? I meant to reply to this earlier but I eventually fixed it and I wanted to share how. When I installed the plugin it actually installed an extra file with premiere and after effects so when I uninstalled those files were still there and then still there on re install. I eventually found the exact file that was causing the issue bc of these leftovers.
So when I installed the be plugin I then just deleted these files and now I have my gpu and opencl back working. Anyone uses them successfully with Premiere Pro ? Hi Rod. I mean the article was updated June. Much more powerful than VR Reframe. Thanks for any help for this new Insta One X owner! Hi Kenneth. Yes you can use fx reframe to create tiny planets. Just use a very large fov and then change the pitch to point up to the sky or down at the ground.
New to the world. Using Premier on Windows Is there another proven plug in that will work with the MAX footage to edit into standard 2d? Does anyone have an indication of the hardware requirements to effectively use the reframe plugin?
